Family Of Woman Who Died In Jefferson County Jail Files Lawsuit

GOLDEN, Colo. (CBS4) - The family of a woman who died in the Jefferson County Detention Facility has filed a lawsuit against the sheriff, deputies and medical staff.

Jennifer Lobato died in her jail cell in March from complications due to drug withdrawal.

David Lane, the attorney representing her family, says for 10 hours the 38-year-old repeatedly asked for medical help and was denied every time.

This spring Sheriff Jeff Shrader admitted to CBS4 that Lobato might have lived if medical staff had taken action.
