Hash Oil Explosion Blows Bricks Off Home, Windows, Doors Blown Out
DENVER (CBS4)- Neighbors heard an explosion at a home on South Logan Street on Thursday night that left the windows and doors blown out. Bricks were also blown off the home.
Firefighters rushed to the home on South Logan just after 8 p.m. Crews believe there was a hash oil explosion in the basement that started a fire.
Neighbors told CBS4's Jeff Todd that they heard a big explosion and then several smaller ones.
"I was in my house and I heard a big explosion. I didn't really know what it was at first. I ran across the street to see what was going on and I thought his roof had caved in or something. But then there was another series of smaller explosions so we kind of scattered and got out of the way and waited for the firemen to show up," said neighbor David Shaffer.
Logan was closed between Louisiana and Arkansas during the investigation.
It doesn't appear that anyone was hurt in the blast but the home is unstable.
One person was taken into custody by police for questioning.
Eight firefighting units responded to the home including two investigators from the police department.
