The damage was widespread. CBS4 captured video of a screen from the home hanging on the backyard fence. Pieces of glass were lying on the ground several feet from the broken windows.

Four people were in the home at the time. The two homeowners were in the basement and they and their pets weren't hurt. The two people who were injured were contracted workers working on a drywall project in the house. They haven't been identified and their condition at Good Samaritan Hospital is unknown.

Neighbors told CBS4 one man has burns and another has shrapnel in his arm.

It's believed the explosion was an accident, likely caused by a gas stove that was left on.

Crews boarded up the home after the explosion, and workers from Source Gas were making sure there were no other gas leaks.

A building inspector was also making sure the home is structurally secure.

The homeowners weren't available for comment on Saturday.
