Ex Adams County Deputy Will Face Sex Charges

BRIGHTON, Colo. (AP) — A judge has ruled there's enough evidence to charge a former Adams County deputy with sexual assault.

Henry Ford II, 37, faces four charges that include sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of trust for a victim under age 15, sexual assault as a pattern of abuse and incest. The Denver Post reports that during testimony Friday, Ford's attorney focused on discrediting the alleged child victim.

Reid Elkus told County Judge Dianna Roybal that the child has made similar allegations against other men and later admitted they were fabricated.

Ford is free on bail. He is scheduled for arraignment June 30.

Ford, an eight-year veteran of the Adams County Sheriff's Department, was arrested in early April. He was fired shortly after.
