Evans Drive-By Shooting: 15-Year-Old Shot In Face, Suspect Vehicle Description Released

EVANS, Colo. (CBS4) - Investigators in Evans are asking for the public to be on the lookout for a Nissan Sentra that was involved in a drive-by shooting. It happened on Thursday at around 6:30 p.m., near 41st Street Road and Belmont Avenue.

A person fired on a group of teenagers and hit one of them in the face. The shooter was in a tan Sentra that didn't have a license plate in the front and didn't have hubcaps in the front.

Police said they don't believe the shooting was random. They say four boys were out walking together when the vehicle drove past them and someone fired off a single gunshot. The 15-year-old boy who was shot went to an area hospital and then was flown to a Denver trauma center where he was listed in stable condition on Friday. The other three boys ran away uninjured.

The Evans Police Department says officers are talking to witnesses and reviewing area surveillance footage as part of their investigation.

Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact Detective Brad Rodriguez at the Evans Police Department at (970) 339-2441.
