The crash happened near Federal Boulevard and West Belleview Avenue. Police say Ceja was drunk and told them he was speeding when he hit a person crossing the street. That person, a 54-year-old Hispanic man, later died.

"Due to the force of the impact, the victim was thrown into the eastbound lanes of traffic on West Belleview Avenue where he was later found to be deceased," police said in a statement.

Ceja drove off but officers were able to track him down. He's facing vehicular homicide and DUI charges.
