Englewood Police Release Identity Of Suspect Shot By Officers

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (CBS4) - A man who was shot in an officer-involved shooting in Englewood Saturday night is expected to survive.

The shooting happened at the Silver Cliff Apartments in the 5100 block of South Delaware Street near the intersection of Broadway and Belleview around 8 p.m.

Police say Steven Beck, 27, pointed a gun at his neighbor. When officers arrived they say Beck pointed an assault rifle at them.

"Steven Beck exited his apartment with an AR-15 type assault rifle and pointed the rifle at Officer Watts," Sgt. Brian Cousineau with Englewood police said in a statement.

Officers Orion Watts and Scot Allen fired at beck, hitting Beck in the stomach.

Beck will be taken into custody on multiple charges when he is released from the hospital.
