Officers Removed Trash Can Lid From Colorado Elk's Neck

EVERGREEN, Colo. (CBS4) - Colorado wildlife officers came to the aid of an elk with a trash can lid around its neck. Multiple people reported seeing the animal near the rodeo grounds in Evergreen.
Officers with Colorado Parks & Wildlife were finally able to catch up to the elk and tranquilize it and remove the lid without causing any harm.
Officials are reminding people to secure trash in wake of the incident.
