At Least 2 Tornadoes Touch Down In Eastern Colorado

DENVER (AP) - At least two tornadoes touched down in eastern Colorado, but no injuries or damage were reported.

National Weather Service forecasters say a tornado touched down south of the small town of Akron on Tuesday evening and dropped hail the size of golf balls. A short time later, the Yuma County Sheriff's Office reported a tornado on the ground near Clarkville and urged residents in the area to take cover.

The storms produced smaller hail in the Denver area Tuesday afternoon and became more powerful as they spread east.
