Early Drought Expanding In Colorado's Northern Front Range

By Chris Spears

DENVER (CBS4) - The U.S. Drought Monitor released their weekly update on Thursday and it showed an area of abnormally dry conditions continuing to grow in the northern Front Range of Colorado.

Most of Larimer County and Boulder County are now in the 'D0' drought category which means pre-drought conditions are being experienced.

Parts of Grand County and Jackson County are also included.

An extremely dry June and a stretch of hot weather have caused conditions to rapidly change after a fairly wet winter and spring.

Portions of extreme southwest Colorado also continue to experience abnormally dry conditions.
