DURANGO, Colo. (AP) - Rafters and tubers as well as landlubbers are being invited to participate in a parade to celebrate the re-opening of the Animas River through Durango.

The river re-opened to boaters on Friday, nine days after an EPA-led crew released working at an old mine released 3 millions of waste.

Tuesday's parade will start at 5:30 p.m. and make its way along the river and the river trail.

On Sunday, the Durango Herald reported that about 20 people attended a sunrise ceremony to pray for the healing of the river led by representatives of the Southern Ute and Ute Mountain Ute tribes.
