Dumb Friends League's 'Wag 'N Trail' A Fun Way To Help Homeless Pets

DENVER (CBS4) - This Saturday's Denver Dumb Friends League's 2015 Wag 'n Trail is a chance for owners to hike with their dogs and help out homeless pets. Sarah Davis from the organization stopped by CBS4 studios to talk about the event.

"It's a very leisurely hike … it's a 1.6 mile hike. You can bring your dog, obviously. We will have lots of venders there, there's going to be music," Davis said.

The event is a fundraiser for the Dumb Friends League Buddy Center in Castle Rock. Pet owners can shop for pet-friendly merchandise, enjoy demonstrations and eat great food.

A $75 donation gets pet owners an official t-shirt, a photo with your dog and ice cream.

"Everything goes toward helping the homeless pets that are in our care," Davis said. "There are all kinds of ways you can help homeless pets but fundraising is our number one way.

"It's a wonderful way to go and have fun and do something good for a great nonprofit in our area."
