Dumb Friends Alumni Dog Helps Foster Other, Fearful Dogs

DENVER (CBS4) - Charlie, also known as the gentle giant, found a home through Denver's Dumb Friends League and is now paying it forward.

The 100-pound Catahoula-American Bulldog mix has been fostering small, scared dogs for the past three years. He helps them build the confidence they need to find their forever homes.

Charlie is owned by a Dumb Friends League volunteer, who says he is accepting of each small and fearful foster dog.

She believes Charlie provides a sense of security to the timid dogs, which at first comes easier from another dog than a human.

Charlie shows these skittish dogs how to be trusting of humans, and acts as a foster parent preparing them for a home.

A Chihuahua currently lives with Charlie and his owner, and the two are attached at the hip.
