Duane 'Dog' Chapman Offers 'LARGE CASH REWARD' After Break-In At His Business

EDGEWATER, Colo. (CBS4) - "Dog the Bounty Hunter" reality TV star Duane "Dog" Chapman is offering a bounty of his own after someone broke into his bail bond office in Colorado. It happened at the Edgewater store at 2547 Sheridan Blvd. sometime between Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning.

The criminals took merchandise and items of personal value from "Free As A Bird Bail Bonds." Stolen items included bounty hunting gear that belonged to Chapman's late wife Beth.

"Beth's bounty gear here... all that's gone. Some of her personal stuff was here, and now that's gone," said Chapman. "I've trusted these cops for 35 years and I keep hearing God tell me, 'Put your faith in the cops, don't do anything yourself.'"

Chapman said during a news conference that he will ask police not to file charges if the suspect surrenders in the next 48 hours.

Chapman says he will forgive the suspect if he turns himself in. He said he's in the process of moving offices and knows exactly what was stolen.

The break-in comes after the death of Chapman's wife Beth earlier this summer. In a tweet, Chapman wrote "The Bible says it is an unforgivable sin to steal from the dead."

In the tweet, Chapman also says he'll provide a "LARGE CASH REWARD FOR ANY INFORMATION FIR WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS !!!"
