DU Lacrosse Wins Opening Round Of NCAA Tourney, Advances To Play Drexel

DENVER (CBS4) - University of Denver's lacrosse team dominated North Carolina on Saturday in the opening round of the NCAA tournament.

The Pioneers took out the Tar Heels 9-5 behind freshman Zach Miller's two goals at DU's Peter Barton Stadium.

Coach Bill Tierney's Pioneers will face Drexel in the second round next Sunday on the road in Delaware.

Denver is seeded No. 5 in the 18-team tournament.
