DU Lacrosse Advances In Tourney To Play At Sports Authority Field At Mile High

DENVER (CBS4) - The University of Denver lacrosse team has advanced in the NCAA tournament after hosting a team in the first round for the third straight year.

The Pioneers beat Brown 15-9 Saturday after getting the snow-covered field at Barton Stadium cleared.

DU (14-2) will now play another tournament game in Denver when they take on the Ohio State Buckeyes (13-6) at Sports Authority Field at Mile High next Saturday at 3:30 p.m.

"Sports Authority Field at Mile High and the city of Denver couldn't be more excited to host the NCAA Division I Men's Lacrosse Quarterfinals for the first time ever," Chuck Olney, Director of Business Development at Sports Authority Field at Mile High said in a statement. "Lacrosse is sport with a huge following in Colorado, growing in popularity each year. We couldn't ask for better collegiate matchups and are looking forward to the energy the games will bring to the Mile High City."

Prior to the Pioneers game Albany takes on Notre Dame at Sports Authority Field at Mile High at 1 p.m.
