Drug Task Force Gathers Students On 4/20 To Deliver Their Own Message About Pot

WESTMINSTER, Colo. (CBS4) - The North Metro Drug Task Force is making sure children know that there are dangers associated with marijuana, and used the unofficial pot holiday of 4/20 to deliver the message.

The task force gathered several hundred students from Adams County schools on Monday at Westminster High School for a competition on projects to educate fellow students on the consequences of using marijuana.

"Like what happened in the video, I started smoking and became addicted, and then I failed all my classes. So that's what can happen," one student said to the audience after showing his video.

"Ever since we started high school we started using drugs like marijuana and all that. And I lost so many best friends that I cherished so much, and we had so many memories, and we just lost them all and now I don't even talk to them anymore," another student said.

The students worked on their presentations over the course of a year.
