2 Different Drivers Killed After Hitting Semitrailer

WELD COUNTY, Colo. (AP/CBS4) - A semitrailer was struck by two vehicles in back-to-back crashes in Weld County. The drivers of both vehicles were killed.

The Colorado State Patrol says the semitrailer was northbound on Weld County 47 near County Road 30 at 1:20 a.m. Saturday. A southbound Chevrolet Trailblazer truck crossed the center line and struck the semi.

The 27-year-old driver from Keenesburg died.

Six minutes later, a northbound 2018 Subaru Impreza ran into the back of the stopped semi, killing a 38-year-old woman from Wheat Ridge. Trooper Gary Cutler says intoxicants are being investigated as causes of the crashes.

The driver of the semi, a 67-year-old man from Greeley, was not injured.
