Driver Who Killed Man On Sidewalk Cited For Careless Driving

LAKEWOOD, Colo. (AP) — A driver who struck and killed a man standing on a sidewalk near a Walmart in suburban Denver has been cited for careless driving resulting in death.

Lakewood police say 51-year-old Franklin Nelson of Colorado Springs was standing along busy Wadsworth Boulevard, apparently waiting for a bus, on Tuesday when he was hit by a car driven by 81-year-old Charles Tatman of Lakewood. The Buick LeSabre kept going across a small parking lot and crashed into the store.
