Two women saw the man and ran to help.

"I asked the woman that was holding his hand on the ground if he was okay," witness Heather Ruiz said. "She said that someone flipped around coming out of this area and just drove off … (the victim) just looked scared. He looked like he didn't realize what had happened."

A CBS4 crew at the scene observed a walker that was in the street at the crash scene.

Pedestrians say there's not a safe and convenient place to cross the Federal Boulevard in the area.

"It's dangerous because there are no stop lights or anything like that and people aren't able to cross," pedestrian Marco Guijosa said. "You have to go around all the way."

"You need to stop. It's not worth someone's life just because you broke one law or another," Ruiz said. "There is no reason to leave someone to suffer."

Denver police are also investigating a hit-and-run that occurred Thursday night at Martin Luther King Boulevard and York Street. In that incident a motorcyclist was seriously injured but is expected to live. Police were also looking for a silver four-door sedan, but not the same car involved in Friday's hit-and-run.

Since last Sunday there have been four notable hit-and-runs in Denver.
