'Lucky' Driver Self-Evacuates After Plunging Into River

LOVELAND, Colo. (CBS4) - A driver managed to escape from a rollover crash unharmed Thursday morning.

His SUV rolled off US Highway 34 and into the Big Thompson River just west of Drake.

Big Thompson Canyon Fire Department spokesperson Karen Debenham says the driver was fortunate to have his seat belt on, and that it saved the driver's life.

The driver was not hurt. Crews had to right the vehicle and tow it out of the river.
