Driver Dies After Crashing Into Platte River

DENVER (CBS4)- A driver died after crashing into the South Platte River during the snowy and icy morning commute on Wednesday.

The SUV was found flipped on its top near 62nd and York in Denver. The wrecked vehicle was discovered by another driver who also lost control and rolled off the road in the same spot.

The second driver freed himself from his wrecked vehicle and called police to inform them of the first vehicle.

The victim in the SUV has been identified as Cristian Urbina, 23, of Aurora.

Police are investigating what caused him to crash. They are looking at winter driving conditions as part of that investigation.
