Driver Accused In Death Of 8-Year-Old Bicyclist Turns Himself In

LONGMONT, Colo. (CBS4)- The driver accused in the crash that caused the death of an 8-year-old bicyclist turned himself in to authorities on Friday morning.

Police in Longmont say Kyle Couch hit and killed the little girl while under the influence of marijuana and alcohol on May 20.

Peyton Knowlton was riding her bike at 17th and Alpine in Longmont when she was hit.

Couch, 20, has been arrested on several charges including vehicular homicide, driving under the influence of drugs, prohibited use of a weapon, failing to stop for a traffic control signal, failure to yield, possession of alcohol by an underage person and unlawful possession of marijuana by an underage person.

Couch turned himself into authorities on Friday morning and was released after posting bond.
