DPS: Students Continue To Improve On Assessment Tests

DENVER (CBS4) - Denver Public Schools says students continue to improve on the statewide assessment tests.

Superintendent Tom Boasberg visited Palmer Elementary School Thursday morning. He says the state's academic success measurement shows Denver is building on the progress it's shown over the last 10 years.

Boasberg, however, says education needs to keep evolving.

"It's so important that education not be about memorization or rote learning or teaching to any test, but really about teaching our kids to think," he said.

Boasberg says he gives all the credit to the teachers and the school administrators.
