Crowds Gather In The Streets After Broncos Super Bowl Victory
DENVER (CBS4)- Police in Denver closed some roads in LoDo and blocked off downtown to traffic after the Broncos won Super Bowl 50 and hundreds of people started gathering in the streets.
Police tweeted an update where no traffic was allowed in downtown because of congestion.
ALERT: Due to traffic congestion in downtown #Denver, no vehicles will be allowed in area. NB traffic from area is being pushed to 15th St.

Earlier, police tweeted an update about the closures that included the area of 19th and Market in anticipation of the large crowds of celebrants.

Copter4 flew over the crowds of hundreds of people at 20th and Market. Some police were dressed in riot gear but the crowd seemed to be celebrating and didn't appear to be causing any destruction.
Police said road closures and delays in downtown Denver were necessary as officers worked to help get crowds out of the area and home safely. There was a lot of traffic in the area as fans left bars and hotels where there were Super Bowl parties.
Copter4 also flew over LoDo where dozens of police officers were gathered.
Police kept the crowd to one area where traffic had been blocked off.
Police also closed the on and off ramps from 20th, Park Avenue and Speer Boulevard to Interstate 25 for crowd control and to keep traffic to a minimum through that area. There was no estimate on when the roads would reopen.
