Douglas Bruce Defends Actions: 'I Don't Have A Temper'
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (CBS4) - Anti-tax crusader Douglas Bruce is defending his actions in a Denver courthouse, saying a woman was harassing him and a Colorado Springs city councilwoman by holding a phone less than a foot from his face.
The woman, Dede Laugesen, says Bruce grabbed her as she tried to question the councilwoman.
A reporter with the CBS affiliate in Colorado Springs, KKTV, talked with both Laugesen and Bruce.
"The look in his eyes was one of malice and violence and I was afraid at that point in time, and he reconsidered and shoved the phone back into my hands," Laugesen said.

The reporter asked Bruce, known for his outlandish comments and actions, if he thinks he has a temper.
"I don't have a temper. I said I've never hit a woman in my life and I'm not going to make an exception for her or for anybody else. I am not a violent person. They make this stuff up," Bruce said.
There's now a warrant for Bruce's arrest. He was in Denver for a hearing on a probation violation related to his tax evasion conviction.
