DENVER (CBS4) - A Denver couple and their dog a have been reunited after a miraculous journey.

The Australian shepherd disappeared a month and a half ago in Yellowstone National Park. On July 23 the family had been involved in a serious car wreck in Yellowstone. One person had to be airlifted to the hospital and their dog Jade got trapped in a crushed cage. When park rangers finally got her out she ran away.

The family made several trips back to the park but never had any luck finding the dog. On Saturday Jade came running up to a park ranger .

"It's been nothing but heartache and depression up until today. I did give up to be honest with you, then lots of people started calling me saying, 'I saw your dog, I saw your dog. She was right out here.' So I knew in the back of my head she was okay," the dog's owner said.

The family is extremely grateful to all who helped search for Jade. They say the pup looks a little thin after her adventure but is otherwise safe and sound.
