Doctor Riding Bike To Fight Leukemia, Lymphoma

DENVER (CBS4) - A Denver doctor is preparing for quite the bike ride to fight leukemia and lymphoma.

Dr. Frank Moore, a pathologist from Rose Medical Center, is planning a 200 mile bike ride through the Alps in Switzerland. His 6-year-old niece is fighting the disease, and he's calling his effort CellCycle.

On Wednesday Moore's colleagues held a picnic at the hospital to help raise money.

"We've really brought the community of leukemia patients and survivors together here locally, but our hope is more. We hope to do something more nationally in the future," Moore said.

All proceeds will go to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
