Doctor Remains In Critical Condition After Fall From Paddleboard

LITTLETON, Colo. (CBS4) - A woman who was paddleboarding at Chatfield Reservoir on Friday and was found unresponsive has been identified as a doctor from Parker.

Hope Cassel, 45, is currently in critical condition.

"Hope and her three sons, ages, 14, 13 and 11, along with a friend of the boys, age 11, were on paddle boards off the swim beach at Chatfield Reservoir Friday at about 1 p.m. when a storm came up," Mark Techmeyer with the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said in a statement.

The incident happened sometime after 1 p.m. at the swim beach area of Chatfield State Park.

According to her website, Cassel is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology at a clinic in Parker and moved to Colorado from Mississippi in 2006.
