DNA Proves Bear Put Down Was Animal In Attacks

DURANGO, Colo. (CBS4)- Wildlife officials confirm that the bear put down after attacking a man was the same bear wanted in another attack a week earlier.

DNA testing proved that the bear that attacked Joshua Barber on May 31 at an illegal campsite outside of Durango was the same bear that attacked people a week earlier.

"He tackled me twice, man. He bit me like six times... stuck his claws in my chest," said Barber.
