Dispatcher Honored For Helping Woman After Unborn Baby Cut Out
BOULDER, Colo. (CBS4)- A dispatcher received a big honor on Thursday for her role in helping a woman who was attacked and whose unborn baby had been cut out of her.
Beth Kemper took the 911 call from Michelle Wilkins, after she was attacked.
Kemper helped keep Wilkins calm so she could survive the brutal attack in Longmont in March.
Kemper was awarded the "Telecommunicator of the Year" by the Association of Public Safety Communication officials.
Wilkins was seven months pregnant when she went to Dynel Lane's home at 1620 Green Place on March 18 after Lane placed an ad selling baby clothes on Craigslist. It was at the home that Lane allegedly attacked Wilkins, cut her unborn baby from her and left her to die.
Wilkins survived but her baby died.
