DIA Has Busiest International Passenger Traffic January Ever

DENVER (CBS4) - Denver International Airport set a record in January.

The airport had its busiest January for international passenger traffic with nearly 200,000 travelers, mostly due to fuller flights on Denver's international routes.

However, overall passenger traffic at the airport actually declined in January about a 2 percent from January of 2014.

"While we did see an overall decline for the month, it's encouraging to see continued strong growth by our top two carriers -- United and Southwest Airlines," Denver International Airport CEO Kim Day said in a statement. "That growth along with record-breaking international passenger traffic in January indicates that we are on track for another successful year."
