This impostor was unusual in that he visited a home in the 1600 block of Jo Ann Court in Loveland on Saturday.

He knocked on the door and told the woman living there that he was an investigator for the Larimer County Sheriff's Department and was looking for her daughter and son-in-law.

The woman gave the man her daughter's cell phone number, but when she contacted police about an update they did not know who she was talking about.

Now authorities are looking for the suspect, described as a man in his 50s, about 5-foot-9 with gray hair and a beard. He was seen driving a gold or orange box-type car or small SUV.

Anyone with information is asked to call Loveland police.
