Deputies Stopped In Their Tracks By Baby Owl

DENVER (CBS4) - Deputies from the Boulder County Sheriff's Office were driving near Nederland Thursday morning when a fluff ball stopped the cruiser in its tracks.

It was a young Northern Saw-Whet Owl, in the middle of the street near Rainbow Lakes campground. The Sheriff's Office said after a few curious head twists, the bird safely flew away.

The photo quickly made its rounds across social media with the hashtag #DeputiesLoveBabyOwls, and generated some clever comments.
