Deployed Solder Wins Broncos Contest, Makes Fantasy Picks Via Skype

A group got the chance to participate in a fantasy football draft at soon-to-be-renamed Sports Authority Field at Mile High Thursday night.

The opportunity came from a special contest. Participants needed a nomination for the event.

Michael Casper was among the people selected, but he's deployed in Afghanistan. His wife went for him and Casper watched via Skype.

"It's really hard to be here in his place because when I'm here I know how much he would be geeking out to be here," Casper's wife Kara Casper said. "These are his dreams and we were here in Colorado last year and didn't have any experiences or opportunities like this. It's kind of ironic that it's all happening while he's away."

Casper says this is the second time he's won a Broncos contest. He says he was thankful to participate in the draft from overseas.
