Denver's Mayor Delivers New Trash Bins To Swansea Neighborhood
DENVER (CBS4)- Denver Mayor Michael Hancock was on trash duty in Denver's Swansea neighborhood.
Hancock delivered new trash bins to residents on Tuesday. They resemble the large recycling bins except the recycling bins are purple and the trash bins are black.
The hope is to get dumpsters out of alleys.
They're not very sightly. They're an invitation for a tremendous amount of graffiti and wear and tear, of course, a lot of damage to occurs with them. They also attract illegal dumping," said Hancock.
Waste trucks that empty the new bins can carry more trash than those who must empty the large dumpsters.
The City of Denver delivered 870 new trash bins to residents. Eventually the plan is to deliver 20,000 across the city.
