Denver's Average Temp Starts 'The Slide' Next Week

By Chris Spears

DENVER (CBS4) - August is knocking on our door and with the 8th month of the year comes a downward slide in Denver's average daily temperature.

The average daily high in the Mile High City tops out each year at 90°F between July 12 and August 1. It drops to 89°F on August 2 and is down to 84°F by August 31.

Daily averages are computed using 30 years of data and they get recalculated every 10 years.

While this doesn't mean a sudden end to having some more hot days, it does signify that our days are gradually growing shorter and the seasons will soon be changing.
