Come Visit 4 African Lion Cubs At The Denver Zoo

DENVER (CBS4)- Visitors to the Denver Zoo can see four new African lion cubs who are making the zoo their home.

The cubs are in the maternity den area of Benson Predator Ridge. The one-year male cubs Kito, Bahati, Usiki and Jasiri arrived from Lee Richardson Zoo in Garden City, Kan. on July 13.

The cubs have deep Denver roots as their father, Razi, was born at Denver Zoo and was sent to Lee Richardson Zoo for breeding.

"We are thrilled to have these four cubs make their home at Denver Zoo," said Vice President for Animal Care Hollie Colahan in a statement. "We feel this is full circle with their grandfather, grandmother and father all having history at Denver Zoo."

The cubs were born May 17, 2015 and now weigh more than 200 pounds each. Their grandfather, Krueger, and grandmother, Baby, moved to Denver Zoo from Ohio's Columbus Zoo in May 2004 and gave birth to the cubs' father, Razi on Aug. 2, 2006.
