Denver Woman Charged In Abuse Of 3-Year-Old Daughter

DENVER (CBS4)- A Denver woman has been charged after allegedly causing serious bodily injury to her 3-year-old daughter.

Denver District Attorney Mitch Morrissey has formally charged Jaime Johnson with child abuse resulting in serious bodily injury.

The 3-year-old girl was brought into Children's Hospital on Aug. 7 with bruises, puncture wounds, abrasions and other non-accidental trauma consistent with child abuse.

The charge alleges that the victim sustained these injuries while in Johnson's care.

Johnson, 25, has been released from custody on a $50,000 bond. She is scheduled to appear in Denver County Court on Sept. 2 to be formally advised of the charge.
