Denver Woman Accused In Death Of Infant Daughter Formally Charged

DENVER (CBS4) - A Denver woman has been formally charged in connection with the death of her 11-month-old daughter.

According to Lynn Kimbrough with the district attorney's office, Karla Ceballos-Andrade, 29, has been charged with one count of child abuse resulting in death.

"The charges allege that on Aug. 13 Ceballos-Andrade left her baby daughter, 11-month-old Karla Karoline Garcia, in a bathtub with a 2-year-old sibling, unattended," Kimbrough said in a statement. "When she returned, the baby was underwater and non-responsive; she was declared dead the following day at a hospital."

Ceballos-Andrade remains in custody on a $100,000 bond. She's scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday to be formally advised of the charge.
