Denver Water's Artsy Campaign Highlights Scarce Resource

DENVER (CBS4) - Water is a scarce resource in the West, and Colorado is no different. To highlight the importance of fresh water, which makes up a measly 3.5% of Earth's water (less than 1% of which is drinkable), Denver Water started a creative campaign this year.

Ten one-of-a-kind art installations are on display at bus shelters across the city to remind Denver of water's presence in the world. The unique ads will remain through August 30.

Our connection to water is personal, as is our connection to art, which prompted this year's call to action.

The message Denver Water wants to convey is 'You Can't Make This Stuff,' so please use only what is needed. As their blog says, fresh, potable water is the precious work of Mother Nature and should not be wasted.

Design materials include wood, Legos, yard, recycled cans, Post-it notes, and more. Check out Denver Water's artistic signs below, and keep an eye out for them across the metro region.
