Denver To Test Outdoor Warning Siren System On Wednesday

DENVER (CBS4) - The Denver Office of Emergency Management and Homeland Security will be testing the city's outdoor warning siren system on Wednesday at 11 a.m.

"This regular test is only a short 'bump' of all sirens citywide, where they will only sound for a couple of seconds before fading away," the office said in a statement.

The Denver Office of Emergency Management and Homeland Security will also be conducting full audible tests of selected sirens in north-central Denver between 11 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Impacted neighborhoods may include Five Points, Union Station, LoHi, Globeville, Sunnyside, and the Central Business District.

Additional Information from the Office of Emergency Management and Homeland Security

As a reminder -- If outdoor warning sirens are sounded, people should seek shelter immediately and tune to local media for further warnings or instructions. (A tornado shelter should be a basement or interior room away from windows.)
