Williams was a cornerback for the Mile High Sting. His coach says the football community is heartbroken.

"He was one of those that got real close to me and from anybody that's dealt with Tre, he's always, 'I got you.' You asked him to do anything," said the coach.

Another man and a juvenile male, police say, were also shot. Officials tell CBS4 they're still determining who shot who and why. They say there were multiple shooters and multiple weapons, however they wouldn't say what kind of weapons were used.
