DENVER (CBS4)- Denver Sheriff Deputy Ida McComb received the Medal of Valor from Denver Sheriff Elias Diggins. She was recognized for her quick thinking and remaining cool under pressure.
McComb was working at the downtown detention center when an inmate attacked her in a housing unit. Others jumped in to separate McComb and the inmate.
McComb quickly regained her composure and got control of the unit which diffused a tense situation.
