Denver Police: 1 Man In Custody In Report Of Weapon Fired Near 27th & Blake Streets

DENVER (CBS4) - Denver police say they received a call about someone firing a weapon near Denver's River North Art District. Officers responded to 27th and Blake Streets at around noon on Saturday. At around 1:15 p.m. police say they arrested a man.

Police say there are no reported injuries. Police say they don't have any further concerns for safety of the community.

Multiple shots were fired, however police officers did not fire their weapons.

Police Chief Paul Pazen says the suspect was armed with a rifle.

Some witnesses in the area reported being on lockdown inside area businesses.

Investigators have the 2700 block of Blake Street closed as part of the investigation. All other road closures will soon be lifted.
