1 in custody for shooting near 6th Avenue and Santa Fe Drive that left person dead
The Denver Police Department says one person is in custody for a shooting that left one person dead near 6th Avenue and Santa Fe Drive.
UPDATE: An arrest has been made in this incident. Uriel Rios-Avila DOB(12-04-90) has been arrested and is being held for investigation of First Degree Murder. Final determination of charges will be made by the Denver District Attorney’s office.

Authorities tweeted around 8 a.m. about a report that came in of shots fired in the area as officers located a victim at the scene. The victim was transported to an area hospital where the extent of their injuries remains unknown.
Investigators say, 33-year-old, Uriel Rios-Avila, is now in custody and has been booked on first-degree murder charges.
