LAKEWOOD, Colo. (CBS4) - In order to track down and arrest a robbery suspect, police used a full show of force in Lakewood on Monday afternoon.

Police said they were after a potentially violent man who has a criminal history, including vehicle theft and assault. They took every precaution with his arrest, carrying long guns and wearing bullet-proof gear, even calling in the Lakewood SWAT team in case the criminal proved to be armed.

Around noon, law enforcement prepared to close in on a Lakewood home, near West Mississippi Avenue and South Ames Street, where the man wanted for aggravated robbery was suspected to be hiding.

After over an hour of securing the area and discussing a plan of action, an armored SWAT vehicle rolled down Ames Street toward the home.

Not long afterwards a SWAT officer appeared, walking with the wanted man in handcuffs. Denver police say the suspect was arrested without incident.
