Denver Police Arrest Murder Suspect Wanted In Motel Shooting

DENVER (CBS4)- After a day on the run, police in Denver arrested a murder suspect who was wanted in a deadly shooting near a motel on East Colfax Avenue.

Police tweeted on Saturday morning that they had arrested Brandon Foote.

It is unclear when or where Foote was arrested, according to the tweet.

Police searched for Brandon Foote after Thursday night's shooting in an alley that began at the Sand & Sage Motel.

Police rushed to the motel at 8415 E. Colfax Ave. about 9:10 p.m. Thursday on reports of numerous gunshots being fired. When officers arrived, they found a female victim who appeared to be shot in the 8400 block of E. 16th Avenue.

The woman was rushed to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Investigators believe the initial gunshots began at the motel and carried over to the second location on E. 16th Avenue.

Another person wanted in connection with the homicide, Merita Curry, aka Merita Swanson, 34, turned herself into the Denver Police on Friday.
