Neighbors Unsettled After Fatal Shooting In Capitol Hill

DENVER (CBS4) - A man was shot and killed outside a McDonald's Thursday night as people watched from a popular bar in Denver's Capitol Hill neighborhood.

It happened shortly after 9 p.m. on East Colfax Avenue and Pennsylvania Street. The victim, later identified as Tyrone Moore, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The coroner said the cause of death for the 39-year-old was a gunshot wound.

One man was having a drink across the street at a bar called Prohibition when the shooting happened. He didn't hear a gunshot but did see a woman go over to the victim, who was down in the street, and saw her rub the person's back or try to administer help.

Another witness at the bar heard one gunshot and saw someone running from the scene.

"It's scary. We live in a nice community, I live six blocks away. Really nice people, the fact that this happened so close to home is unfortunate," said Ryan Carnes.

A homicide investigation is underway. There is no further information on the suspect.
