Denver Making Its Pitch To Host GOP Convention

DENVER (AP) - Denver is making its pitch to host the Republican Party's next presidential convention.

Party officials are in Denver starting Monday to check out what the city has to offer and discuss how much money has been raised to host the 2016 convention.

During their three-day visit, members of the site selection committee will be checking out the city's hotels and restaurants as well as the Pepsi Center and Coors Field.

The Colorado Republican Party is encouraging people to post their favorite photos of Denver and Colorado on social media to help try to convince them to pick the Mile High City.

Dallas, Cleveland and Kansas City, Missouri are also in the running to host the convention.
